Supply Planning and Puchasing Manager provides direction and strategy for all supply planning efforts globally and ensures that proposals are aligned with overall business strategy. This role, along with the Global Supply Planning Coordinator, provides visibility, analysis, and decisions around inventory management across all SKLZ global locations. This position works cross-functionally with other business units, develops relationships with overseas and local suppliers, monitors supplier performance, verifies receipt of items, manages quality information on deliveries, controls inventory.

 

Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes, and manages all Supply Planning activities, to include Sales and Operations Planning efforts, and finished goods procurement.

Leads monthly inventory and forecast reviews, recommends inventory procurement, instructs Global Supply Planning Coordinator to execute related purchase orders with vendors, and have overall approval on vendor invoices.
Work closely with vendors to monitor status of open orders and push/pull orders out/in as necessary based on changing demand.
Work closely with Global Logistics Manager to ensure container utilization is a key metric when issuing buy proposals and completing consolidation plans.
Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve any procurement related problems.

Maintain appropriate inventory balance, yearly inventory turns and required fill rates.
Maintain relevant internal reporting and communicate information effectively cross-functionally.
Manages FOB- direct from factory order planning; oversees large program planning and works closely with supply chain team for any vendor compliance, consolidation and logistics cost/ timeline estimates.
Develop container load plans as necessary and maximize freight utilization with inventory buys.
Learn and understand sales velocity across all SKLZ’s product portfolio to drive safety stock recommendations.
Assist Operations Team with supply chain support as needed and provides fact-based, data-driven analyses for strategic decision making.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Consumer goods and/or manufacturing background preferred
Experience working with factories in China, managing global inventories, product seasonality and varying lead times
7-10 years’ experience in planning/buying
Experience working with ERP, advanced planning systems, purchase order management systems, data analytics
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills

Be an expert Microsoft Excel user with experience in higher level functionality
Be detail oriented but able to articulate the big picture
Possess a positive attitude and a passion for business, solving problems and asking questions
Be proactive in seeking business improvement
Thrive working in a team oriented environment
